Hey there!
I’m going to start off by saying that the following
post is pertinent to my experience only
and by no means am I saying that EOS Balms
are not good for you.
Having said that, let’s start sharing my experience.
Apparently there is an ingredient in the product that
does not go well with my skin. I started using the product in May 2014 but I
had other lip balms so I was not using it exclusively.
I started to notice that my lips were dry so I started
drinking more water – at that time I was a stay at home mom, so I thought I
wasn't drinking enough water – and applying more and more lip balm, at this
point I was only using the EOS Balms (I had 4).
It not only affected my lips but the skin surrounding
them. I couldn´t open my mouth too big because I would get cuts in the corner
of my mouth and they were painful! Or I would get painful fissures just by
talking.
At this point I realized it wasn't just a simple case
of dry lips or chapped lips so I went to a dermatologist who explained to me
that this was cheilitis by contact and I had to stop using any product around
and on that area plus I had to by expensive medication and on top of that, I
had to get 3 shots – ouch!!
Then I found myself in the puzzled task of figuring
out what product was causing it. To tell you the truth, if it weren't for my
husband I wouldn't have figured out it was the EOS balms.
I still don’t know how he came up with it or how he noticed
it, but one day he said: “it’s the little egg you are using”… I decided to
listen to him and sure enough my skin began to get better.
It was a long process, frustrating and painful
process. I have no idea what’s on the balms but whatever it is, is not good at
all for my skin and lips.
What I recommend to you is that if you start noticing
changes in your skin; go to the doctor right away. I’m sure that I had gone
when I first started experiencing “dryness” that would not go away it would
have save me a lot of pain and uncomfortableness not only physical but
emotional (let me tell ya it is not nice to be talking to someone and start
bleeding suddenly). So please! Do not self-medicate and see a physician at the
first sign of a problem.
I hope you guys find this post helpful.
Much Love,
Angie!
